Being a Peeping Tom will get you Fired!
Countless hours of free, uncensored, and readily available pornography on the internet enough for you? It wasn’t enough for Michael Brunner,
who worked at the Lincoln Center Theater as the stage manager for the Musical, South Pacific. Brunner’s perversion stretched much farther than the internet, as he allegedly employed an iPhone to videotape a female cast member as she undressed in her dressing room between acts. A little voyeurism goes a long way, or perhaps not, since Lincoln Center Theater has now announced that they have terminated Brunner’s contract following an Oct. 16 arraignment on charges of unlawful surveillance.
This is by far the dumbest thing a person can do. I don’t even sense there was an effort to hide the thing. Or perhaps he’s been at it for so long that he finally got sloppy? While he certainly deserves to get the boot, I can’t help but wonder that Brunner isn’t the only one to go out on a limb and mix his uncanny sexual fantasies with his professional life. There are plenty of men and women who spend time at the workplace fantasizing about their sexual desires, whether through dirty chat, pornographic websites, or just in thought. There are fewer people who take those fantasies to the next level and engage in physical expression that may have severe consequences if seen by coworkers or superiors. There are very few who take their fantasies a step further and engage their coworkers without their permission. Not only will being a Peeping Tom like Brunner get you fired, but it will also land you in court, or worse – jail!
